A Mosaic

Everyone is a mosaic piece of art.

Each piece from a different person, place, and experience.

Even a picture for example is a mosaic, in it’s own different way. Every pixel creating a masterpiece.

There’s a trend going around Tik Tok about people being mosaics and it’s such a beautiful trend. The problem is, I’m a talker and would want more than just one minute to tell people about myself. So here I go:

I eat my Oreos by stacking two of them together cream side together so it’s extra cream in the cookie, because my mom always did.

I say “I love you” a lot because my mom said there was no such thing as saying “I love you” too much.

Whenever someone drops popcorn I try to get them to hold the bowl, because my grandpa said if they couldn’t hold the popcorn in their hands they should at least let it fall in the bowl.

I put my hand out of the car window on sunny days when other people are driving, because me and my childhood best friend said that we could control the wind.

I learned to write in cursive because I saw my mom do it, and I thought it was just beautiful.

I never abbreviate the words “I love you” because my best friend told me if you couldn’t text the whole thing versus abbreviating it, it feels like it means less. So I make sure to let people know when I say “I love you” I do.

I hate my hiccups because someone once told me I sound like a bird.

I love the show “Wipeout” because me and my grandpa would watch it every summer.

I’m always kind to everyone because I used to be super depressed and no one knew, so I always want people to feel like someone cares about them.

I take every moment to show my boyfriend I love him with every ounce of what I do for him and when I’m with him because a teacher in my school when I was younger always told me to love others how I would like to be loved.

I always eat my small snacks in forms of two and the same color/flavor because I want my whole mouth to get the experience of what I’m eating evenly.

I listen to music whenever I know something painful is going to happen, because someone once told me it was a good way to distract from the pain.

I crack all of my knuckles out of habit because my mom always does.

I never say something looks “weird” in public because my third grade teacher always told my class that that was rude because it was art, no matter what it was.

Whenever I see a ladybug I think of my grandpa, because he used to call me “bug”

I always hold my breath when I go through tunnels because me and my childhood best friend would see who could hold their breath longer.

I call people I care about “love” because I saw it in a TV series once and it felt like there was so much love in the way the character said it.

I say “hello” in a certain cartoon-esque way because my coworker says it that way, and I always thought it was fun.

I still sleep with the same stuffed bunny since I was a baby because my grandpa gave it to me and it makes me feel like I’m still close to him.

I get really anxious when people are late or when I’m late because my mom has always instilled me to be either on time or early.

Everyone is unique in the same way that they aren’t, we’re all made up of many pieces of things that have shaped our lives and personalities to what they are today, and they never stop.

While doing this, it took me a while to think of the things that I could write down, and all I kept thinking was “If I was my boyfriend…” “If I was my friend…” it felt like I didn’t have enough. But it ended up being fine.

You are amazing and beautiful, no matter what has gone on in your life.

You are loved.
